Borgata Poker Open Returns With Season XIX: Partners With BetMGM
The BetMGM Poker and World Poker Tour announced on Tuesday that the Borgata Poker Open would be conducted online. The online event will only be available for all the New Jersey players and through the Partypoker US Network. Even though BetMGM Poker is already mentioned in the announcement, all the players can easily access the tournament through the three skins available on the network. The other two skins are Partypoker NJ and Borgata Poker.
About Borgata Open Event
The buy-in for the Borgata Open Event is $3,500, which is $3,200 +$300 event fee. The event will be conducted from September 19th, 2021, to September 21st, 2021. This particular event will also feature a $1 Million, which is guaranteed, and it stands out to be pretty ambitious for New Jersey online poker.
Apart from the main event, there will also be some side events that will surely take place, and they will begin on September 12th, 2021. But currently, there is no news or updates about such events.
The Borgata Open is the 2nd online event that is occurring within the United States. The 1st event was called the WPT Online Poker Event, which was held last December and had the same price point.
What Does Matthew Sunderland Have To Say?
The Vice President of BetMGM, Matthew Sunderland, said BetMGM had found an excellent partner in WPT. He also said that they are pretty excited to work with WPT and look forward to bringing in another outstanding online event in New Jersey. Sunderland also added that the last event was great and wished to create a much better event for the 2nd one in New Jersey.
Currently, BetMGM’s Vice President is looking forward to providing a $1 Million prize pool to all the players from New Jersey. On the other hand, WPT has conducted many interesting events for overseas players. For those events, WPT partners up directly with Partypoker.
Entain, which is the latter’s parent company, established BetMGM in the form of a joint venture along with MGM Resorts International. This particular resort also owns Borgata, which is a part of its United States casino empire.
Borgata Will Resume Live Cash Games
The majority of the live poker events have been transferred towards the online platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was pretty much true because of all the lockdowns that took place across the country last year. The poker rooms have already reopened, but many individuals are still pretty hesitant to attend the places.
Borgata is said to have one of the most oversized poker rooms within the state of New Jersey and is planning to open up and conduct activities after a lengthy shutdown. Borgata had already lifted the plastic barriers last summer, but the casino has not conducted any competitions after the ECPT’s Borgata Summer Poker Open was canceled.
Ending Note
The Borgata Poker Open event will soon take place online, and many individuals are looking forward to it. The fees for participation in the competition have already been announced, and there might be more updates later on. Players are requested to stay alert on the news coming up on this particular event.
