The FireKeepers Casino Receives Approval in Michigan

The casino will start its operation at noon after getting approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board [MGCB]. The Michigan Gaming Control Board authorized the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians and their platform partner NYX Digital. This ultimately helped them to launch the sports wagering and online betting operations under the FireKeepers Casino Hotel. The FireKeeper Casino has become the 13th operator of internet and sports gambling within the state of Michigan. The Play Gun Lake of Gun Lake Casino is an additional authorized operator or the 14th operator who will be responsible only for online casino gaming.
Few Words From Henry Williams
The executive director of MGCB or Michigan Gaming Control Board, Henry Williams, shared some words as well. He said that he welcomes both the casino and its partner, NYX Digital, to Michigan’s sports wagering and internet betting market.
Apart from that, he also said that the representative of the tribe has provided a lot of support during the development of the laws, which were signed back in 2019. This allowed the federally recognized tribes within the state of Michigan to obtain a license for internet sports betting and online casino gaming.
Williams ended his statement by saying that this participation will help produce funds for K-12 education and the tribal community Nottawaseppi Huron Band. The revenues will support the tribe’s economic development as well.
